Solar panels and a battery make sense on a great many Danish homes. Yet very few people have them. Because today you have to handle everything yourself: get to grips with the technology, gather quotes, find an installer, work out when it will pay for itself, and pay a large sum before you’ve saved a single krone.

Steffen started Modi because far too few Danish homes get solar panels. It isn’t that people don’t want them. It’s that it takes a big investment, and you have to run the system and carry the risk yourself.

“I understand why so many people hesitate. It’s hard to get to grips with solar panels on the roof, a battery in the basement and an app. Modi removes all of that. We take responsibility for the technical side, and you save the money.”

How does it
add up?
The battery is ours. When you don’t need the power yourself, we can use the battery to help the grid. That gives us an income, and it’s that income which pays for your saving.

Why are we called Modi?
In Norse mythology, Modi is one of Thor’s sons, and the name means “the brave one”. It suits us well. It takes a little courage to do things a new way, including when it comes to the power at home.
